The lesser-spotted fitness newsletter

Hello healthy people,

It’s been awhile since my last newsletter, no reason really, just going with the flow this year... The studio was shut for a month over July, a combination of me having Covid and summer holidays. All fine now, and appreciative of the ‘Covid Rehabilitation’ certification gained last year. Fatigue is no fun, but there is a safe way back to fitness...

The studio had been operating a waitlist over summer, but I’m pleased we’re taking bookings again now. PT sessions have remained at £50 per one hour session, which includes:

•    Your personalised workout emailed to you.
•    Email support in between sessions.
•    Nutritional guidance, and occasional treats from my allotment.
•    Use of a private fitness studio (with a HEPA air purifier).
•    Complimentary organic mint tea and towel with your workout.
•    Access to discounted fitness equipment, and pug hug from Coco the fitness pug.
•    Book a 5 session block and receive a FREE ‘Get Fit & Enjoy It’ book.

A Running Testimonial
I wanted to say thank you for your training tips for the EMF half marathon. I completed it yesterday and although aiming for 3 hours, I did it in 2 hours 40. Your training really helped me, so I wanted to say thank you very much.” - Gillian N, May 2022

Tracy and Coco with spurtle

Golden Spurtle – we’re in!
I'm very excited to be a finalist in the Golden Spurtle World Porridge Making Championship in the Highland village of Carrbridge, on 8th October. I first started making porridge when I was about ten years old, and my Grandma Jean used to make the best porridge ever.

My speciality porridge is a fitness lunch for two - that is one person and a dog. Yes, fitness pug Coco loves her dog porridge. Perhaps a new vegan dog food trend? All the info on the championship is at www.goldenspurtle.com - Recipe to come in the autumn newsletter.

Client story: Jeanette’s Three Peaks Challenge
One of the best things about running a small private fitness studio is that I can help people who really need it. Over the last 17 years I’ve helped many clients reach personal goals and enjoy adventures. Over lockdown I’ve had the pleasure of working with Jeanette, who was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis (MS) a decade ago. We’ve been doing weekly studio sessions, and Skype webcam workouts too. Over the last two years I’ve seen Jeanette’s balance and strength improve. Now she’s tackling Three Peaks for a fundraiser for an AlterG treadmill for the local MS centre, the Compass Therapy Centre. Alter-G treadmill is a anti-gravity treadmill that allows users to walk and run more freely.

Jeanette descending Arthurs Seat

Her Alternative Three Peaks Challenge consists of:
Arthurs Seat: 261 metres to summit, 10th August 2022. Jeanette whizzed up on one of the hottest days of the year. Coco and I met her near the top and Jeanette was determined and got up and back in very good time.
Cairngorm Mountain: 7th highest mountain in UK. Elevation 1,245 metres. She successfully scrambled to Ptarmigan.
Lost Valley: Elevation 335 metres. Very steep, rugged and a lot of scrambling. One section you have to pull yourself up with a rope attached to the rock side. Still to go, on 8th October.

Jeanette says:
“These challenges are not going to be easy for me. But it needs to be done... The AlterG treadmill has such a positive impact on the lives of those managing neurological condition, most importantly on their mental health and wellbeing.”
